Heiemo Ellingsen
Heiemo Ellingsen died in Oslo, Norway on January 3, 1932 after leaping off the cliff near her home. Reports say that Heiemo became depressed in her old age as the feebleness of her aging body made it impossible for her to dance or sing. The body was never recovered, but doctors don’t believe a woman of her age could have survived the fall.
Heiemo was born on May 2, 1864 in Oslo, Norway. Her parents were Ragnar and Christine Ellingsen. Her dad was a well known writer in Norway and her mother was a stay at home mom but well known in the community as a great singer. Heiemo was also highly regarded in the community for her ability in song and dance. She put on performances in Oslo but mostly stayed at home to help her mother. Heiemo has gained a story in the community about her encounter with a water spirit but most believe it to just be superstition or a tale inspired by a fan of her father’s writings. Many who believe in the folktale of the Ellingsen family say she eventually joined the water spirit as a way to make amends.
Heiemo is survived only by her Brother Erling.
Her hearing and funeral will be held at St. Edmund’s Church in Oslo this Wednesday starting at 11:00 am. Though the body was never found the church has stated both ceremonies are representational and meant to add closure for Heiemo’s family, friends, and spirit. Both are open to the public and the church has encouraged everyone in the community to come pay their respects to the deceased.

I like the way she died and how the obituary starts right out with saying how she dies
ReplyDeleteThis will be the new haunted spot for teenagers to go out to dark at night....Ellingsen Cliff ooooooOooOOooo
ReplyDeleteAw. Pretty sad way to die, but I can see why she's depressed.
ReplyDeleteThe first paragraph is pretty striking. I like the myth you put in, it lightens up the story a bit.
